Glimpse ~ Stacey Wallace Benefiel

Glimpse (Zellie Wells, #1)Glimpse by Stacey Wallace Benefiel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Looking for a little clairvoyance to go with your YA? Then this is the one for you. Its been sitting on my kindle for some time and I just got around to reading it.

Summary:
Zellie Wells has a devastating crush on Avery Adams, the son of her mom’s high school sweetheart. At her sixteenth birthday party, held in the basement of her dad’s church, she finally finds the courage to talk to him. Turns out, the devastating crush is mutual.

As Avery takes her hand and leads her out onto the makeshift dance floor, Zellie is overwhelmed by her first vision of his death; shocking because not only are they both covered in his blood, but they’re old, like 35, and she is pregnant.

My Take~

I enjoyed this one a lot. A total YA win, enough romance to be interesting but not so much that you wanted to give the main character a dope slap. The whole glimpsing the future thing was well done, and had a different spin on it than I have seen before. Now I don't want to give too much away but the author has thrown a few different curve balls in there even I wasn't expecting.

Something I really enjoyed was how well the characters were done. As you probably know my biggest pet peeve with YA is when the author makes the main characters seem like mindless teenagers. This is not the case in Stacey Wallace Benefiels novel. Her characters have their teenage moments but stay believable. I can't wait to check out the next one.
