Fierce Dawn by Amber Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I actually picked this one up in a boxed set via Amazon a few months ago. Having read a previous book by Amber Scott I was excited because this set had two novels by her and then three by another author I have not yet read anything by.
Snarling teeth, glowing eyes. Someone--something--is after her.
The man who haunts her dreams enters her reality, claiming she's transforming into a changeling--not quite immortal but no longer human. Except nobody wants this change. Not humans, not immortals and least of all her.
Battle lines are drawn and blood spills as the two fight not only for her life, but for mankind's as well.
Fierce Dawn was one of those novels that makes you angry, in a good way. Sadie and Heather are two sisters torn apart by their mothers insanity. Heather, the younger sister seems to have come ok but Sadie... Trying to survive in a normal world Sadie is labeled as off balance. Little does either girl know that the world is not what it seems and Sadie may not be so crazy after all. The major trouble for Sadie is that Heather's well meaning ways may get her locked up in the looney bin for good.
Sadie and her mother seem to be part of some earth changing profecy. Add in some shape shifters, dark angels, and intense love triangles and this one is definitely a win for Amber Scott. The writing was fast paced and well done. The romance scenes were sizzling, just what I have come to expect from Amber Scott. This was the kind of novel that keeps you reading well into the night.
